Welcome to Two Generations, where we provide a national Homeshare service to help people lead happier, connected and independent lives in older age. And where we help younger people, prepared to support others, find affordable accommodation in connected communities.

An Introduction to Two Generations

I was considering selling my house to go and live in a block of apartments. But what I really wanted was to stay in my own home. Rick has been generous with his time cooking, gardening and helping with my computer.”

Gretta, Householder, Hampshire

After a fall, Gretta, aged 91, wanted support and companionship. We matched her with Rick, 66 who was happy to help with cooking, gardening and household chores.

They have been matched for over 3 years and are passionate ambassadors for Homeshare.

How Homeshare Works

Our experienced team matches people who live alone and have a spare room, typically older people or those with disabilities, with a younger person who can provide an overnight presence, companionship and some help with household chores, usually 10 hours a week. The older person enjoys companionship, their family gains peace of mind and the younger person benefits from affordable accommodation for less than £350 per month.

IN THE MEDIA…

“Having a sharer has made me feel safe..... If I didn't have Dela I wouldn't be able to stay in this house. We both care about each other and we both joke with each other, we chat together, it's just so natural.”

Sheila, Householder, Bournemouth.

After Sheila, aged 70, lost her husband, she found it incredibly difficult to be at home alone overnight. We matched her with Dela, 40 who works in the care sector and wanted to find somewhere where she could offer some support to someone who needs it while enjoying the benefit of some companionship herself. Sheila and her family now have a wonderful sharer and peace of mind of an overnight presence.
